The Atlas of Hillforts of Britain and Ireland
The data underpinning the website is available as a downloadable spreadsheet. There are currently two versions: the original version 1.0 published in 2017 at the Atlas launch. A modified version 1.1, incorporating a couple of dozen minor edits, is the baseline data for the published hardcopy 'Atlas of Hillforts' in 2022: Lock, G. & Ralston, I. (2022) Atlas of the Hillforts of Britain and Ireland, Edinburgh, Edinburgh University Press.
These datasets are available for download here:

The Hillfort Study Group welcomes comments, suggestions and corrections to the Atlas of Hillforts. A panel of specialists will periodically review these, once or twice a year, for incorporation or amendment to the current version of the Atlas database. The intention is to publish a revised version once a year, if possible. The ongoing aim of the HFSG is to ensure that the Atlas remains up to date and relevant as new knowledge and information becomes available.
If you have a comment or suggestion, please complete and submit the form below. Alternatively mail the key information, including your contact details, to: hfsg1965.webmaster@gmail.com. Please note that your submission will only be reviewed when the specialist panel meets, so you will not necessarily hear back for some time.
