The 2024 field trip was in North East Scotland, based around Huntly, from 19th - 22nd April 2024, brilliantly led by James O'Driscoll. The target was 18 hillforts, including classic sites such as Burghead and Tap O'North.

The HFSG Spring excursion for 2019 was a resounbding success, with 21 participants. Led by Professor Gary Lock (Oxford) and Professor Ian Ralston (Edinburgh) and organised through the outstanding labours of Associate Professor Fernando Rodríguez del Cueto (Oviedo), the tour took in 15 Asturian hillforts of varying size and phasing. We were honoured on the last day to have Dr Ángel Villa Valdés of the Museo Arqueológico de Asturias join us at Os Castros de Taramundi and Chao Samartín.
